I purchased a pair of Clarks Pace walking shoes for my wife ahead of our recent Hong Kong trip, expecting them to perform well given their positioning as a comfortable walking shoe. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be quite disappointing. We specifically chose these shoes in anticipation of long days on foot, as Hong Kong typically involves a significant amount of walking, stairs, and uneven terrain. However, from early in the trip, my wife began experiencing discomfort. She frequently complained about the lack of cushioning and overall support, especially during extended walking periods. What was particularly surprising is that she has previously worn other well-known walking shoe brands without any issues, even under similar or more demanding conditions. In comparison, the Clarks Pace shoes did not seem to provide the expected level of comfort or ergonomic support that a dedicated walking shoe should offer. Instead of enhancing the travel experience, the shoes became a recurring source of discomfort throughout the trip, which is the opposite of what we had hoped for.
